Jean Shinoda Bolen, M. D, is a psychiatrist, Jungian analyst, and an internationally known author and speaker who draws from spiritual, feminist, Jungian, medical and personal wellsprings of experience. She is the author of The Tao of Psychology, Goddesses in Everywoman, Gods in Everyman, Ring of Power, Crossing to Avalon, Close to the Bone, The Millionth Circle, Goddesses in Older Women, Crones Don’t Whine and Urgent Message from Mother, and Like a Tree: How Trees, Women, and Tree People Can Save the Planet.

Destined from birth to teach the ancient wisdom, ritual and practices of her ancestors to those in the West, Sobonfu, whose name means “keeper of the rituals” travels the world on a healing mission sharing the rich spiritual life and culture of her native land Burkina Faso, which ranks as one of the world’s poorest countries yet one of the richest in spiritual life and custom.

It is this reliance on spirit, community and ritual that has allowed Sobonfu’s personal and professional path to become one. Since the beginning of her journey in the West Sobonfu has traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe, conducting workshops on spirituality, ritual, the sacred and intimacy.

Martin Prechtel is a thinker, writer and teacher whose work, both written and oral, hopes to promote the subtlety, irony and pre-modern vitality hidden in any living language. As a half blood Native American with a Pueblo Indian upbringing, his life took him from New Mexico to the village of Santiago Atitlan, Guatemala where he became a full village member of the Tzutujil Mayan population, and eventually served as a principal, responsible for instructing the young people in the meanings of their ancient stories through the rituals of adult rights of passage. Once again residing in his native New Mexico, Martín teaches at his international school Bolad’s Kitchen.

Originally trained as a climate scientist (Ph.D. in the Atmospheric Sciences, climate change research for thirty years), Jeffrey Kiehl decided to return to school to get an M.A. in psychology from Regis University. He completed his analyst training with the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and he is a Diplomate Analyst with both the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and the International Association of Analytical Psychology. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and have also received training in Gestalt therapy. Jeffrey gives workshops & lectures on various topics, including: Personal Myth and the Lord of the Rings, The Life & Psychology of C.G. Jung, The Anima in the World, and Psyche & Nature.

Healing of the Ancestral Field

Hella Neumann earned her MA in Art and Education from the University of Berlin. In 1975 she founded and directed (for 18 years) Atelier unterm Dach Art School in Germany. This work included Art Therapy, Bio Energetics and the Biodynamic Massage of Gerda Boyesen, London. In 1994 she began intensive study of Systemic Constellation Work in Germany with the founder, Bert Hellinger. Living and working nearly three years in a German monastery allowed for an intense period of meditation. This time away from the loud sounds of the world helped refine the sensitivity with which she now tunes in to the non-physical realms of the Ancestral Field. During two years in the Australian rainforest and an extended visit to South Africa she connected to indigenous ancestral wisdom and to the power of ritual which is an important part of her work. She began her own constellation work in 1997 under the name “Songs of the Ancestors,” leading Family Constellation workshops, private constellations and training facilitators. She remains in regular touch with Bert Hellinger and his evolving work and attends the national and international conferences in Germany. Hella lives in Germany and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Craig Chalquist, PhD is a core faculty member in the School of holisitic Studies at John F. Kennedy University. He has worked as a family therapist, conflict resolution facilitator, lecturere, and group facilitator, He earned his PhD at PAcifica Graduate Institute, where he studied depth psychology with an ecological approach.

For his doctoral work he explored the history of California one mission city and county at a time while inspecting its geography, ecology, infraestructure, culture, lore, and imaginal life to synthesize a “psychoanalysis of place” to trace connections between the trauma and health of the land and the symptoms and syndromes of its inhabitants. He has written, among other books, “Terrapsychology: Reengaging the Soul of Place”, and is co-editor with Linda Buzzel-Saltzman, of “Ecotherapy: Healing with Nature in Mind”.
